BASIC FUNCTION

The Volunteer Firefighter is responsible for protecting life and property by performing fire fighting, fire prevention, emergency rescue, emergency medical aid and hazardous materials handling.  This is a part-time position.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A.    Performs fire-fighting activities including driving fire apparatus, laying hose, operating pumps and other similar equipment.  Performs fire combat, containment and extinguishments tasks, while utilizing self-contained breathing equipment.  Performs salvage operations including the placement of salvage covers, sweeping water and removing debris.
