The Board of Trustees of the Clear Lake Public Library is made up of seven members appointed to a six-year term. The Board of Trustees meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:15 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Library, 200 N. 4th Street, Clear Lake, Iowa. The Park Board is responsible for recommending plans for developing the park and recreation system, and for informing the community of the park system and recreational programs. The Park Board meets the third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at the Parks Department Office, 800 1st Avenue S., Clear Lake, Iowa. The Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) consists of five members, each to be appointed by the Mayor, with Council approval, for a term of five years. The ZBA hears and decides appeals and reviews any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Zoning Administrative Officer and the enforcement of the City Zoning Code. Appeals to the Board may be taken by any person or by any officer, department, board, or bureau of the City affected by any decision of the Zoning Administrative Officer. Such appeal shall be taken within 10 days by filing with the Zoning Administrative Officer and ZBA. If the above information is submitted by noon Friday or before, your appeal will be published in the Clear Lake Mirror Reporter the following Wednesday and the Board of Adjustment will meet Tuesday following the publication of the appeal at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 15 N. 6th Street, Clear Lake, Iowa. Applications for variances or conditional use permits can be obtained from the Building Department at 1419 2nd Ave. S., Clear Lake, Iowa, 357-6135. The Clear Lake Planning and Zoning Commission (P/Z) consists of seven members who are citizens of the City of Clear Lake and qualified by knowledge and experience to act in matters pertaining to the development of the City's Plan and the amending of the City Zoning Ordinance. Members are appointed by the City Council for terms of five years. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 15 N. 6th Street, Clear Lake, Iowa. Applications for change of zone, subdivisions, etc., can be obtained from the City Building Department at 1419 2nd Ave. S., Clear Lake, Iowa, 357-6135.
