City Government » City Council Clear Lake operates under a Mayor-Council form of Government. The principle of this type of government is that the Council sets policy and the routine administration of City business is carried out by an appointed City Administrator and the City staff. You are encouraged to contact your elected official or the City staff whenever you have a question or problem involving local government. Clear Lake is divided into three (3) sections or wards. One Council member represents each ward and two at-large members represent the entire City. The following is a listing of the Mayor and each Council Member's respective ward.
You are invited… City Council meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Clear Lake City Hall, 15 North 6th Street, Clear Lake, Iowa. The public is invited to attend. One of the first items on each agenda is Citizens' Presentations, and you may bring any concerns to the Council at this time. Agendas for meetings and other public notices are regularly posted on bulletin boards at City Hall. We are proud of Clear Lake and hope you will enjoy living here.
