Park Regulations

All parks close at 11:00 p.m. by City ordinance. All pets must be kept on a leash in all park areas (including walking trails) and are not allowed in pavilions. Pets are not allowed in City Park during large community functions by City ordinance. Pet owners are required to pick up and properly dispose of their pet's waste.

Vandalism

Wouldn't you like to see the parks in your neighborhood free of destruction and misuse? Countless acts of vandalism occur each year to our park facilities and equipment. We are asking for your help to stop this. If you see anyone abusing the equipment in the City parks, please call the Police Department at 357-2186 or the Parks and Recreation Department at 357-7010. Together we can keep our parks looking their best!

Dogs in the Parks

The Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing a safe and quality park system for the residents of Clear Lake. Park rules exist to assure that park visitors has a pleasant experience. Two specific park rules that need to be remembered when taking a dog to a City park are:

1. Dogs are to be leashed at all times; and
2. Pet owners are required to pick up and properly dispose of their pet's waste.

Appreciation and thanks are extended to responsible pet owners who, along with their pets, respect other park users and the park system. "Two sets of eyes are better than one!" If at any time you are in the park system and are harassed by a loose or uncontrollable dog or see someone not picking up after their pet, please contact the Clear Lake Police Department at 641-357-2189.

Programs

The department provides an array of recreational and cultural opportunities throughout the year for all age groups. Each year, typically in early spring, a brochure of programs and activities is published and distributed throughout the community. Volunteers are always needed to help run such activities!

To learn more about the programs and activities offered by the Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Department, see our Programs and Registration page.
